Android 4.4 KitKat comes with a binary which allows you to record your on-screen activities but it’s done through ADB, not sure why Google didn’t bake it into the UI somewhere. But let’s not talk about why Google didn’t do that because Xda member xD34D has just done what Google didn’t. He has baked in screen recording option into Android 4.4 KitKat UI.
You can either activate screen recording using Power + Volume Up or by long-pressing the power button and choosing “Screen Record” option. Once screen recording has started you will get a notification in the status bar which allows you to stop screen recording.
Sweet isn’t it, now all you need to do is request your custom ROM developer to add this feature. In case you are a ROM developer you can find the commits you need here.
PSA:- In case you are on Omnirom you can try Power+Volume up to see if it works ?
